Welcome to the Korea AEO Association.

Established in August 2010, the Korea AEO Association (KAA) stands as the sole institution in South Korea dedicated to Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programme. Its primary goal is to institute and promote the AEO programme, contributing to the facilitation of trade and enhancing supply chain security.

The AEO programme, a global initiative implemented in all countries, is mandated by the World Trade Organization's 'Trade Facilitation Agreement.' This programme extends advantages to certified companies, streamlining customs procedures with rapid clearance not only within their home country but also in importing nations through mutual recognition. Notably, Korea has emerged as a leader in the AEO programme, boasting the largest number of AEO Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs) worldwide.

Recently, the Korea Customs Service has actively advocated for the expansion of mutual recognition agreements, aiming to address non-tariff barriers encountered by Korean companies. Simultaneously, efforts have been made to recognize the excellence of AEO companies and give them preferential treatment by suggesting ways to expand the use of the system so that AEO companies, which are the best partners in customs administration, can fully enjoy the benefits of AEO certification in difficult trade situations due to the global economic downturn and the spread of protectionism. As such, the need for AEO will continue to grow in the future, and the competitiveness of AEO companies, including members of our association, will further increase.

KAA is diligently striving to elevate the global recognition of 'K-AEO' within the customs administration community worldwide. We are pooling the expertise and efforts of all our executives and staff to serve as a bridgehead for public-private cooperation, safeguarding the rights and interests of our members.
